Remember those old birthday photographs where the flash ruined the photo by painting everyone white while darkening the background beyond recognition? The flash can turn out to be a nightmare or even your best friend – as long as you understand lighting. All photographers need to manipulate light, both natural and artificial, to be able to effectively create dramatic results. This workshop helps you understand how those manipulations are done to produce flawless results. Whether it is portraiture, still life, landscape or even a casual family moment; a working knowledge of lighting will always stand you in good stead. This workshop allows you to explore the various dimensions of lighting, both indoor as well as outdoor. The major learning from this workshop includes making light work for you rather than you being hostage to light. After the instructor finishes demonstrating the various lighting techniques, you can practice with PhotoIndia’s extensive inventory of lighting equipment. The workshop will leave you with the ability of pre-visualising the effects of light, a skill every good photographer must possess. The workshop will be your stepping stone to the basics of portraiture. But mind you, portraiture is not limited to merely setting up lights in a fixed pattern and shooting. Light has to be used effectively to draw out the facets of every individual’s personality. The workshop aims to help you capture and communicate the inner soul of the subject that you choose to shoot. Dramatic lighting brings photography to life. And we hope that this session will bring out the artist in you who produces thought provoking photographs. |

" It was an excellent class. The best part was that the instructor showed us that a good picture is more important than the technical aspects of the camera. I had a great time. "
V. Christopher
