OVERVIEW WORKSHOP OUTLINE

How many times have you found yourself drooling at the sight of scrumptious looking food while flipping through a cookbook or culinary magazine? Do you want to display pictures of food that rouse hunger pangs on your food blog or restaurant website? And have your endeavours to produce stunning images of food met with failure?  If the answer to all those questions is yes, then this is the workshop for you.

Shooting food is one of the most visually appealing forms of photography as you get to play with vivid colours, contrasting textures, interesting shapes and fascinating patterns. Dressing up food with the help of food styling and lighting to make it look mouth-watering is an important aspect one needs to learn. The major difference between a bland picture and an arresting picture is how the food is styled. The background and other props add character to a photo and our workshop teaches you how to get these elements right such that the food looks fresh and appetising in your images.

Portraying a cheesecake is different from portraying biryani. The quality and direction of lighting, background settings and props need to enhance and bring out the colours, aromas and flavours of the dish.  PhotoIndia has been shooting food for commercial assignments in their studios for years and have the inside scoop on what works best. This workshop will integrate our time-tested tips with your creative ideas to help you produce the kind of food images you always dreamed of.
