What We Look For In Content And Composition

Uniqueness and creativity is paramount; we like to represent photographers who do not follow the crowd but try to carve a niche and produce extraordinary photos. Our online Stock photo library is rich in subject matter and we want our stock to be comprehensive and unique. We are looking for photographs that capture the diversity of India, the new India, infrastructure, and globalization. Our stock ranges from major tourist attractions to everyday scenes; remote landscapes to home-interiors; popular destinations to little known places off-the-beaten-track. We accept photographs of people, festivals, food, flora, wildlife, transport, communications, art, architecture, portraits and landscapes.

Our Selection Criterion - three vital points:

  1. A picture that is compelling and needs no words. (Could be of an ordinary subject)
  2. A picture of a rare subject or occasion (Like the First landing on the moon, a UFO in your back-yard or a catastrophic flood!)
  3. A picture of a subject that we do not already have in our stock; in case of repetition the new photos need to be superior in quality and composition.

We do not accept:

  1. Images that contain pornography or which infringe on any third party rights.
  2. Images that feature solely a logo or trademark - this is a copyright or trademark infringement.
  3. A series of images with almost identical compositions or only slightly different exposures. Choose only the best ones for submission.
  4. Photos with less than 1024 pixels in any dimension.
  5. Photos that are derivative work based on other copyrighted photos (unless you are able to submit written releases from the copyright owners).
  6. Photos with embedded copyright notice, watermark or a timestamp.
  7. Photos that are not properly rotated; the main subject not sharp (unless the blur is intentional), underexposed (dark), overexposed (bright).
  8. Photos that have no artistic, aesthetic, stock or editorial value for photo buyers
  9. Excessive frames, borders, vignetting, etc. around the images.
  10. Family photos, vacation snapshots, casually posed portraits, casual photos of pets, and other photos more suitable for family albums. (Unless they are extraordinary images; please remember we all like our own pictures:  be objective in your image selection)
  11. Special note about flowers and sunsets, etc. - we already have plenty of them! We love them too, but unless your photo truly stands out please avoid sending these subjects. Dramatic sky pictures are welcome, but please remember they have to be truly exceptional.
  12. Photos of modern maps, documents where names are mentioned, computer screenshots, branded toys, watches, computers and other licensed products. Photos of artworks (including publicly displayed artwork), advertisements, posters, or photos of other photos.

The salient points of our selection criteria:

  1. Uniqueness and creativity is paramount.
  2. Subjects for photographs: Diverse India, New India, Infrastructure & Globalisation in India. This will include tourist attractions, landscapes, people, food, festivals, art, architecture, etc.
  3. Primary selection criteria: photos should be compelling in composition & quality and the rarer the subject the better.
Our non-selection criterion is very specific and extensive.
